Critical Connections: WIFI Roundtables at Alliance Flooring Convention

On Tuesday, June 17, the Women In the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI) community gathered in Park City, Utah, for a high-impact morning of conversation and connection during the Alliance Flooring Convention. The roundtable event brought together women from across the flooring industry to explore timely topics, share strategies, and strengthen professional relationships in a relaxed, peer-driven setting.

The event was hosted by WIFI volunteer Mallory Cruise (Floor Covering Weekly) and Briana Silfies (Alliance Flooring), whose thoughtful leadership and warm energy helped foster a collaborative and engaging environment.

Roundtable discussions were guided by a dynamic group of facilitators: Kim Colquette of Southwind Floors; Lisa Hedden, Tami Stahl, and Eileen Zelazny of The Dixie Group; Chastity Hurt of Emser Tile; Kelly Oberschlake of Mohawk Industries; and Morgan Wilson of Shaw Industries. Their perspectives helped spark open and solutions-focused dialogue among attendees.

Conversations touched on a wide range of practical and timely themes—from staying steady in a shifting market and leveraging group resources, to adopting new technologies and supporting generational transitions within teams. Attendees shared stories, asked questions, and offered advice, creating space for connection and community that extended beyond the event itself.

The morning also served as a reminder of the power of peer learning and shared experience. Whether attendees were exploring new growth opportunities, managing through change, or stepping into leadership roles, the discussions reinforced the value of education, support, and continued collaboration across the industry.

Throughout the session, WIFI’s mission to attract, educate, and empower women in flooring remained front and center. Participants were encouraged to stay involved through WIFI’s growing programs—scholarships, mentoring, and face to face events like these—that make a lasting impact on professional development.
